Happy Halloween!!! Livingroom

Here are some pictures of my living room.
A long time ago my grandma gave me all of the old family pictures. They are framed in plaster frames that are very worn. She said I should have them because there wasn't anyone else in the family who would use them. I used them all right... I placed them on my shelves for Halloween decorations. She is probably rolling in her grave. I then added a few drawings of grave yards and other creepy things in my black and white frames. I added lots of moss and spider webs. I covered purple lights in more creepy cloth (dollar store), added paper ravens around and behind them (dollar store) and put lots of bugs on the walls and shelves. I then filled in with glittering skulls.I filled my clear candle holders with rubber roaches. I added a few blood red flowers and called them complete. For now anyways. I will probably change them ten more times before Halloween.
I hung lots of bats around and on my front door. I added a few paper mice around the room on the closet doors and the base boards. I made my spider cage as I do every year.( I guess for the picture you will have to look at last years post. Sorry but this way I know you are looking! LOL) I hung a very large spider on the wall. My kids really don't like this... They think the spider is watching them! Ha ha after all that was the plan!!
I know its cheesy but I put white sheets over all my furniture. My husband doesn't like it but I think its fun. I wish I had the heart to take new white sheets and tea dye them and even shred them a little. I just can't... But its not over yet!
For my coffee table I created a grave yard. I bought tombstone candles at the dollarstore. I added some more creepy cloth with a few black flowers.
My livingroom is now ready for all the little trick or treaters! The question is.... Are they ready for my livingroom? I hope so!

Happy Halloween!!!! Kitchen

Here are pictures and ideas from my own Halloween kitchen.
I added lots of moss, fake spider webs, and of course paper bats. I hung bats flying from the ceiling, hanging on the walls and over the windows and doors. For my curtains I shredded black plastic bags and hung creepy cloth over the top. I found the cloth at the dollar store. Hint: if you use draw string trash bags, you can cut them and take out the string and use it as the hem over the rod. I placed lots of old books with skulls and mice on the counters. I filled in with old brown and blue bottles. I used more creepy cloth, purple lights, lots of spider webs and of course what else but plastic roaches. That's really gross to some. On the kitchen table I put a brain on my cake platter covered in plastic worms and roaches. I used old silver candlesticks with white candles. I used a red candle and lit it, I then held it over the white candles and let it run down the sides. Looks just like blood! I then added a few paper mice behind a few things peeking out, put a few on the baseboards, and even added a few rubber ones around on the floor and even the counters. My kitchen is now all dressed for Halloween!
I will be adding more rooms as I find time to write! The next room will be my livingroom. To follow will be bedroom, bathroom and then my front yard.
Hope this has given you a few ideas. All comments and ideas are very welcome.

Early Halloween ideas...

I realize its still very early for Halloween ideas, but I have seen so many decorations already. Hurry October 1st. I really cant wait!! I may sneak a few decorations around but very few. I am patiently waiting, really I am!!
Here are a few ideas that I thought might interest you.
    Cheap Ideas...
Black construction paper- Cut out shapes of scary cats and rats, place along your base boards or even cut out mouse holes for interest along the floors.
Cut out lots of flying bats, and even hanging bats to add around the doors or even all over your walls. If you place lots around your front door and even add a few on the ceiling it looks as if they are trying to escape.
Take long strips of paper and cut to look like cracks. Tape to the windows to look like the windows are broken. This makes for a really cheap haunted house effect.
Use black stones on tables or even in plants. Write on them with chaulk. write words like Ichabod, help me, poison or toxic. I think this such a fun idea... I will probably use this for evil of some sort...
Fake spiders- Buy large ones to place on walls or crawling down curtains. I have even seen some large enough to sit in a corner. Wouldn't that creep people out. Sitting on the couch with a gaint spider staring you down. Use small plastic ones to place lines of them running down the walls or even on the doors close to the door knob. Yeah that would definitely be creepy.
Spider webs- Use fake spiderwebs in doorways. Place them over art, dishes, tables and even lamps. Be careful though they could catch fire so use caution please. Ball up some of the webs and hang them with fake spiders hooked to them. Nothing like spider eggs!
These are just a few ideas, I promise there will be many more.
For all of you who read this. I have an idea and would love some feed back. I am thinking about decorating other homes for holidays. I am not sure how to go about it, but think that would be the best job ever! Please let me know what you think and any suggestions.

Father's Day

Yes I know its a little crazy, but yes I do decorate for every holiday!
I decided to go with a fish theme because its the easiest, but you could use any hobby dad loves.
A little advice before you raid your husband or dads hobbies you might want to let them know. My husband wasn't very pleasant when he came home an seen his lures stuck on the wall! LOL! (My chaulk board wall has been the greatest thing I Have ever had for decorating! Its so much fun!!)
