Its not your normal easter basket!

First of all both of my girls an my nephew find something else to do! Don't read this please!
Hopefully they listened to me but I doubt it!
Any how I have a few ideas for Easter baskets that aren't your usual baskets! I tried to find items that wouldn't end up in the basement with all the other baskets from the last 18 years!
For my husband I used a fold up cooler! I filled the bottom with rolled up socks. ( I think he must eat his!) Then I added grass I filled the rest with his favorite candies. Red jellybeans, Swedish fish, lots of peanutbutter eggs, an of course a chocolate bunny.
For my teenage girls, I bought Easter bags. They already have plenty of containers! I filled them with Easter grass added lots of candy an gave them toothbrushes, an something to do! Yes teenagers have a funny way of being bored at 2:00 in the morning! Books an even cool puzzles work well for the I can't find anything to do problem!
For my nephew who has decided hunting is cool. I found a camouflage bucket. I filled it with olive green grass. You know I just decided orange would have been better. Oh well. I filled it with lots of candy an put in a toothbrush, floss picks ( this way mom is happy. Sugar an a way to fix the teeth. Yeah right!) I also found a really cool sports ball to add.
For a 3 week old baby I found a bright colored bucket. I filled it with dresses at the bottom, added pink grass, and put in a really really cute duck. Then I added some hair ribbons and a hair brush. No candy yet! That's next year, but shhh that's our secret. Mom isn't going to like that.
If you have any ideas for a basket that isn't a basket please let me know. I think these are some fun ideas!

simplified ideas

I have went through my house, and tried to simplify it, so I can easily decorate for every holiday in minutes.
In the kitchen I have put candle sconces on each side of my window. Each holiday I change the ribbons an add something fun. For easter i used ribbons an easter grass.I have also painted a wall with chaulk board paint. Now I can write an draw anything I like for the holidays. I have Easter eggs and even a bunny peeking out from behind my plates. I just love this! It is so much fun.
In the bathroom I used black curtains that I can change for.each holiday. For Easter I actually used napkin rings with Easter grass and an Easter ribbon. Over the toilet I have a silver tray with 3 black candles! I just added grass and plastic eggs! Bathroom decorated!
In my livingroom I have hung up an placed several black frames with white mats on white shelves. I have collected lots of antique post cards for all of the holidays. I just change them out for each one. How. easy! For Easter I also used lots of grass an glass eggs which I found at the dollar store. So simple!
House is finished and now looks like I spent hours when really it was minutes!

Easter- something cheap easy an fun!

- Easter decorations -
Easter grass is so available that you can buy it anywhere an even 24 hrs a day. You can find it at drug stores, grocery stores, even very high end stores. It doesn't matter where you find it you wont spend more.than a few dollars. Use it everywhere. You can put it in plants, on shelves, even on tabletops. Anywhere you need Easter decorations. Place a few plastic eggs, or ceramic, or even very expensive eggs an no one will k ow how little your decorations cost. They will love them.
If you like you could go to a craft store and buy white crinkled paper for gift wrapping for a really exciting effect. Use bright colored eggs an you will have a fun effect.
For a more elegant effect you could use silver, gold or any metallic colored shredded paper that is bought in the wrapping paper asle of the your favorite store. Place white eggs on the grass an wow! How beautiful!

St Pats Decorating ideas...

Here are a few ideas for St Pats Day... I hope they give you a few ideas of your own..

  • For your kitchen table, use a green runner and add a row of gold painted stones down the center. Add a few green candle holders, or even clear and fill with green candles. Place a few leperchans here and here and your table will be ready to party...

  • For a different idea for the table, use green vases filled with white carnations and use gold candle holders, use green dishes or even white if you have them. Don't forget the leperchans...

  • For the windows you can use white sheers with a scarf made of un hemmed St Pats day fabric.. You can get this at any fabric store, there is a million different designs to use... Just measure the length of your window and then measure the height and add it twice, remember fabric comes in yards... Bring the fabric home and iron it or just throw it in the dryer to remove any wrinkles... Wrap the fabric around your curtain rods and you have a cool st pats scarf...

  • For the shelves or even your china cabinet use lots of green plates or if you can find them st pats plates..( Trust me if you see St Pats dishes you might want to buy them because they are not easy to find when you are looking for them..) Add a little greenery such as the clovers you can buy in the grocery stores. If you cant find them use ivys, they work just as nice.. Now add some pretty green glasses and a few more leperchans and your kitchen is complete and ready for corned beef and cabbage..YUMMMM
